The camp of Dakhla's pioneer
In 2002, Rachid Roussafi opened the very first camp on the Dakhla peninsula. Twelve years later, he chose one of the most beautiful spots on the lagoon to found Heliophora: a private beach, flat water and sunsets over the cliffs.
Today Heliophora has 28 rooms built from stone and earth, powered by solar energy. Guests come for the wind and stay for the rhythm: the morning session, the shared table, mint tea at sunset and the starry Saharan sky.

Our school is right on the lodge's beach. IKO and VDWS certified instructors, recent equipment and a safety boat: you learn or progress on one of the safest stretches of water in Dakhla.

Sunrise yoga facing the lagoon, flamingos on the water, reading out of the wind. Heliophora is also a refuge for those who won't be riding.
